Cinechico is a monthly screening of short films from around the world. The concept of Cinechico was conceived by Descarga Cubana. It's an opportunity for film lovers to watch stories set in different countries and cultures, made by both professional and student filmmakers from all around the world. (Including Africa, Brazil, Chile, India, Israel, Spain, Portugal, Germany, USA and UK for example.)

Cinechico is now managed by Richard Simkins. Monthly film screening are held at Alleluya Cafe on the Karangahape Road, Auckland CBD.

Descarga Cubana continues to offer support with sourcing and receiving films for Cinechico.
