The best time to go to Cuba

Cuba is a year round destination so anytime can be a good time to visit depending on your interests and agenda. In a later edition, we will feature questions and answers about specific events and activities.
In regards to taking the weather into account when organizing your trip, Cuba has a sub-tropical climate with cool trade winds that can provide relief from the heat and humidity. However, the heat and humidity is present all year round.
In general, it’s hot in Cuba. Make sure you have a full bottle of waterproof sun block number 30. Do not rely on buying one in Cuba. It’s either not available or really expensive.
The rainy season, which is also the hottest season, lasts from May until the end of October. May and June are the wettest months. The temperature is typically in the lower 30’s (celcius) at this time. July, August and early September are very hot and humid. August being particularly stifling with very little wind and rain.
The drier, cooler season runs from late November to April. Temperatures can be in the lower 20’s(celcius) at this time and the evenings and nights, particularly in the early months of the year can be cool. February, March and April are pleasant months to visit weatherwise with February and March being the driest months of the year.
As a Caribbean island, Cuba is prone to hurricanes which usually strike during the rainy season which is May to October. The peak of the hurricane season tends to be September and October with the hurricane season sometimes extending into November.
