International Carnival

THE INAUGURAL AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL CARNIVAL
When: Saturday 6 November 2010 and Sunday 7 November 2010
Where: Ellerslie Event Centre, Greenlane East, Auckland
Straight from the streets of Brazil, Venice and Notting Hill comes the thrilling spirit of Carnival, with New Zealand’s first International Carnival to be held in Auckland in November 2010.
The two day festival extravaganza will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the dazzling spectacular of Carnival and celebrate the melting pot of cultures and people that makes Auckland unique.
The highlight of the Carnival will be the Costume Carnival Parade, with floats, rhythms, theatre and dance providing an exhilarating blend of creativity, colours and sounds.
There’s plenty of other activities to get excited about, with the Masquerade Ball, an all night Carnival DJ Party with a host of different genres of music to suit all ages, corporate hosting opportunities, food stalls to tantalize the taste buds, vibrant craft stalls, entertainment shows and dance competitions, local and international cultural performances and so much more.
The Auckland International Carnival concludes in style on Sunday night with a spectacular display of dazzling fireworks and pyrotechnics, live music and a fun picnic atmosphere.
Expected to become a major fixture on Auckland’s event calendar, the Auckland International Carnival’s focus is on giving back to our children and our communities through an exciting event that brings Auckland together.
